OUR WhY

In a world where community centers have faded and social skills have taken a backseat, we’re left with loud bars and uninspiring spaces that don’t bring people together in meaningful ways. State Street Social Club is here to change that. Launching this Spring, we are a first-of-its-kind immersive playground in Santa Barbara—a pop-up space designed for play, collaboration, and real connection.

Founded by McCailey Grace Contreras, a Santa Barbara-based visionary who has spent the last 11 years weaving connection, play, and experiential design into everything she creates, State Street Social Club is more than just a space—it’s a movement. With a background in experiential event production, and social-emotional learning, McCailey brings ontological design to the forefront, proving that the spaces we shape also shape us.

This is more than a venue. It’s a new way to gather.

Will you be part of it?

Ontological Design recognizes that the spaces we create shape us. By designing with intention, we can foster deeper connection—to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us.
